Frequent Questions

What if I already have an existing surgery center?

In addition to building new centers, we also work with GI physicians, hospitals, and health systems to optimize the operations of existing ASCs through integrated business solutions, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships.

I'm an independent GI but I would love to partner with other healthcare professionals to open an ASC — can you help?

Yes! We offer a number of strategic investment and partnership opportunities that can help make your goal of opening an ASC possible, all while maintaining your independence. As the largest single-specialty partner in digestive care, we can also help with recruiting other GI physicians to your practice.

Would I stay owner of my practice if I agree to a partnership with PE?

Our partnerships offer enormous flexibility and are customized to you and your practice’s unique needs. We offer both minority and majority purchase options, affording you the opportunity to control your center’s future.

PE is not your standard business “vendor.” Because we have a stake in your practice, our wins are your wins. This makes for a more fruitful and valuable partnership all around.

Will a partnership with PE mean sacrificing the quality of care for patients?

No. Actually, in many cases practices have seen patient satisfaction scores improve after forming a partnership with PE.

Our integrated business solutions help streamline operations and allow GI physicians to focus more on providing the best care, and less on managing a business. Additionally, we are proud to use the latest technology and techniques for care in our state-of-the-art ASCs.

What if I have questions about the care I'm receiving at a PE center?

You should talk to your doctor about specific treatments you’ve been prescribed by your doctor. If you have any specific questions unrelated to your medical record, please feel free to contact us.

For Physicians

What types of physicians are best suited for a partnership with PE?

The GI physicians who benefit most from working with us are the ones who share a firm commitment to providing high quality care, communicate a strong vision for the future of their practice, and trust in a partnership dynamic.

Truthfully, most physicians have a lot to gain via a partnership with PE. But we find that those who allow us to focus on what we do best, optimizing and managing business operations, allows them to focus on what they do best, caring for patients. That’s how we unlock the greatest win-win scenarios.

How can PE help me prepare for the next phase of my career?

Managing profitable growth while remaining independent is not an easy feat. We are uniquely positioned to help you optimize your business operations, increase capacity utilization, and improve patient satisfaction scores.

By partnering with us, you can free yourself from daily business minutiae and provide better care to your patients. Our single speciality is GI. We know what it means to serve as your advocate for long-term, sustainable business growth, while always providing the best patient experience possible.

How will a partnership affect doctors who we employ?

Employing doctors is generally expensive for hospitals and health systems. Our flexible investment and partnership opportunities help align incentives between physicians and the hospitals or health systems that employ them to build trust between all parties.

How will a partnership with PE affect our relationships with insurance companies?

For Health Plans

Will you be able to help resolve issues between payers and physicians?

Especially around billing and payment concerns, we can act as intermediaries between health plan payers and our GI physician partners. We’re best at helping these physicians manage the business operations of their practices so they can focus on providing the best care possible. Because of this, we are well positioned to ensure any issues around billing, payments, and collection are handled promptly and accurately.

For health payers, what is the difference between partnering and contracting with PE GI Solutions?

Our number one goal is always to help our partners grow their GI service offerings while improving the quality and accessibility of patient care. That said, we offer a number of flexible opportunities for health payers to lock arms with us to help them reach their goals.

The most popular route for health plans is to contract with GI PE Solutions to offer our partnered physicians and/or ASCs as in-network providers.

Also, health plans may engage with us to make PE’s physicians and/or facilities “preferred partners,” helping their members choose a provider with exceptional reputation and high quality patient satisfaction.  These partnerships can be formed when PE is either an in- or out-of-network provider.
